This is where I’m just going to “dump”, so-to-speak, pictures that have no story and aren’t really of anything special. Just testing settings on the camera. I’m going to only put them here if I didn’t have to do any tweaking to the pics too.
I hope to post some pictures here soon, but my Rebel XS has already been replaced. Kind of lucky timing. I called Best Buy to let them know the popup flash already quit working and they wanted to send it back to Canon. I told them with 5 kids and 1 week before Christmas I and they do not have that luxury. They told me to bring it back and trade it for a new one. I brought it back and when I got home I realized the menu was different. They gave me an XSi. I called to let them know they gave me the wrong one, but the told me they quit selling the XS so I get the next step up. It’s a huge difference in quality. I love the pictures so much more! There’s so much more in clarity and less noise. Very happy!
Here’s my recent test. I got a cheap $100 lens with a 1.8 stop. I stopped it all the way down, so I could take pictures in the living room in dimmer light. Then I put my 3.5 stop lens on. With the light overhead it would only stop down to 5.6 or so. I had to literally move the shutter speed down to 1/8 to get near the light in that the F1.8 would do. This will end up with blur if he moves, so the cheap lens is well worth it. It’s a prime, so there’s no zoom, but for inside the same room, etc. It’s got a very sharp image. BTW, these two have not been adjusted in anyway.
My recent testings.

This panning one was a little cool for my first try.

Chelsi took this one.
